Hello

I asked this question about a year ago and no malware was detected on the effected computers

On a number of our computers in the directory user-->username-->AppData-->Roaming-->Mozilla-->Firefox-->Profiles--> Random letters and Numbers.default a File prefs1 keeps getting so large it fills up the drive.

In order to delete the file I need to first stop Microsoft Windows Based Script Host

Any thoughts on how to stop this problem from filling up the drive

Security software may be interfering with Firefox's process.

I don't get multiple files rather it just puts a lot of information in the single file, Due to the size I can't open

Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

Note that you shouldn't double click the prefs.js file as that makes Windows open the file as a JScript file but this fails since prefs.js is a plain text file with user_pref() lines. If you want to open the file for inspection then you need to use the 'Open with' in the context menu and open the file in Notepad or another text editor.

You can check for problems with preferences. You can delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).
