I made the switch from Internet Explorer to Firefox more than a year ago and I have had no issues until the past month. I have always had Google set as my homepage for searches. My problem is that when I try to type in the search box it is extremely slow to respond. I have to type one letter at a time and wait for it to appear or it skips and misses letters. I cleared the cache and it had no effect. I'm assuming this is a Firefox issue and need to know how to fix it. Is is possible its a Google homepage issue?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

You can also test if it works properly in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history to see if there is a problem with saved forms.
