When I go to Google (my Homepage) & start typing in my search topic...the automatic type-assist feature TRIES to anticipate what I'm searching for or what I'm abaout to type in next. More than 50% of the time it is WRONG, then leaves my typed-in words UNFINISHED, INCOMPLETE or just WRONG. Therefore, I spend 50% of my typing time FIGHTING with this stupid AUTO feture.

PLEASE tell me there is some way to DISABLE this feature!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you mean the suggestions that you get if you type in the search field on the www.google.com page?

You can use this link:

That page doesn't use autocomplete="off" like the www.google.com page does, so Firefox will store search terms if you have selected to remember the "search and form history"

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember search and form history"
