Why does FF5 fail to connect to websites and other browsers do?

Since I updated to FF5 I have had nothing but trouble with it. It refuses to play any type of video most of the time, and when it rarely does the video is very choppy. It often sits kicking its heals when accessing any sort of website and refreshing the page to fix the problem is very hit and miss. I use BBC iPlayer a lot and it would work like a dream with FF4, but with FF5 I get a weird double streaming effect which dims the streamed video and produces a double sound stream, one lagging slightly behind the other. It is slow, clunky and I am seriously considering ditching it for another browser. Please help as this is driving me nuts!!!

Of course, I meant FF6 in my post, although FF5 was just as bad. I did notice that my graphics drivers were 2 years out of date on my lappy and since I updated earlier it does appear to have sorted out most of the video problems. It hasn't fixed FF6's buggy attempts to access websites though...
