I have a new HP and Windows 7. I always close my apps before nightly shut down. In the morning, I open Firefox, Thunderbird, and Sunbird first. Lately Firefox has been coming up with the very polite error message: "Well, this is embarrassing." Then it says it can't reload the session.

Hi,

The definite way to properly close Firefox is via the Firefox button Exit or File (Alt + F) > Exit. Please also note that plugins may cause a slight delay in the shutdown sequence of Firefox. So it could be that Windows shuts down before Firefox completely exits. You can check if firefox.exe is still running by right-clicking on the Windows Taskbar and Start Task manager, click the Processes tab. Also, check for plugincontainer.exe. If Firefox is taking a long time to exit, right-click on the plugincontainer.exe and End Process.
