FF will randomly be unable to connect to websites that I go to regularly sometimes 5 or 6 times a day). When it does it will redirect me to some obscure search engine I have never heard of called Searchwoof.com (it is not one of my default search engines) and the tab will start flashing or vibrating and the only way to close it out is to use CTRL/ALT/DEL to close out FF and restart it. It's not always the same website and I never know when it will do it. Sometimes it will make the connection if I keep the Searchwoof tab open and try again in a new tab (and it may take 3 or 4 tries). This just started happening after I installed the latest version of FF....(I have FF 10 Beta).

You can follow what MJB said in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/726801#answer-4438

One of your add-ons might be the culprit too. Try running Firefox in Safe Mode with all add-ons disabled. If that solves the problem, see Troubleshooting extensions and themes and possibly Troubleshooting plugins

Also your issue may be caused by Malware. You can run and update the following free anti virus software:

1. Malwarebytes (Free version) - http://www.malwarebytes.org

2. Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org

3.Spyware Terminator - http://www.spywareterminator.com

In addition, there are a number of forums you can use to help get rid of your infection. These include:
