why does my keyboard pop up on any website with a search box

Android 4.0.4 Toshiba Thrive iI have others browsers installed with no issue

The website asks the browser to place focus in the text box. Firefox is honoring the website's request.

no other browser does this. I find it annoying as heck. A disable is needed.
