installing FF breaks Microsoft Application Virtualization Client with XULRunner error!
We have an important document management program (Java-based) at work. It runs by virtualization: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Application Virtualization Client\sfttray.exe" /launch "Cosa 18.0.0.4752"
When I try to run the program after I install FF I get an XULRunner error: Error: Platform version '18.0' is not compatible with minVersion >= 19.0.2 maxVersion <=19.0.2. After that, the program doesn't launch at all. When I deinstall FF it works again. I have IE installed as standard browser.
I tried installing XULRunner 19.0.2. But being a rather noob, it doesn't seem to be installing as a program. And shouldn't it be part off FF already? I have the latest version of FF! OS is Win7 64b.
What to do? I think it is weird that the virtualization client is suddenly pointing to the FF install.

I fixed the problem! On a colleagues computer I noticed the process firefox.exe. She didn't have FF installed. Apparently, the document management program is actually a fullscreen, browser-based package, using FF.
When I installed FF 19.0.2 it conflicted with the virtualisation, running version 18. I downgraded my FF install to 18.0. Now the document management program launches as a new tab, without errors.

If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then disable Virtualization and reinstall Firefox.
Other security software may have similar features to prevent Firefox from updating files properly.
