When I start Firefox, just my home page (my g-mail) use to open. All of a sudden, my home page and some free computer game page opens. How can I get this other page to not open anymore?

Thank you!

Do you get the same two tabs when you launch a new window (Command+n) or only at startup?

You may want to check your extensions in case something snuck in. You can review and disable those on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Command+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.

Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Does that shut down the extra page?

Please try the following:

  1. Go to about:config in Firefox
  2. Locate the browser.startup.homepage string
  3. Change the value to the URL of the desired homepage
  4. Locate the browser.newtab.url string
  5. Change the value to about:newtab

If this does not fix the problem, the issue may be caused by a third party program that you installed on your computer.
