How do I cange positions of the toolbars?

more options

I reinstalled Firefox after my hard drive crashed and the position of the top toolbar (open tabs) is above that of the menu (?) bar and I prefer the tabs to be below the menu bar. Generally, how to change the placement of the bars.

Also, the dark background is hard for me to see and would like to get back to the lighter I had before. So, how do I customize the background colors of the bars?

Thanks.

There is a very comprehensive add-on which can customize numerous aspects of the interface, called Classic Theme Restorer. You can install it from the Add-ons site here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

To modify the settings, you can use the Options button for the extension on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the right side, find Classic Theme Restorer.
