previously, my new tab window would display all my favourite sites. My wife downloaded a program and now the new tab window is the Ask website.

I removed Mozilla and reloaded from your website but the Ask website still opens in the new tab window I would like to have my favourite websites in the new tab window as they were previously.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar and search for prefs that refer to ask.com. You can reset user set (bold) prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.
