the old sync let me specify which PC was the master browser so that i could sync all others to mirror it; ther is nothing apparent in this new improved sync that shows how to do that; i do not want to sync "both ways" b'cuz past experience with FF sync has resulted in huge duplication of bookmarks - i got 2 or more of everything on every FF browser b'cuz sync simply copied everything both ways - and that then takes hours to prune out

where are the instructions for setting up the master ????????

hi emoze2, there isn't the concept of a master device in firefox sync - changes go out to all devices as sync keeps them on the same stage. if you come across bookmarks duplication, you can either restore one of the automatic backups that firefox creates (through ctrl+ b/library > import & backup) or make use of an addon like https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/bookmark-deduplicator/
