Why has Firefox stopped updating the date on my Google calendar icon on the task bar?

For as long as I can remember, as each day passed by, the Google calendar icon on my task bar was updated to the correct date. Recently, the date is no longer updating; instead the icon remains on the same date. I tried Google and they told me it was the browser.

The task bar isn't part of the browser, it's part of the operating system. Windows 7 in the case of the browser that you used to post here.
