But I don't want to because I like to keep copies of my e-mails on the server. The e-mail I use is yahoo, I haven't changed any configuration, didn't install anything. Seems like it just changed itself. Any suggestions how can I receive my e-mails to Thunderbird while keeping it on the Yahoo servers?

You should talk to Yahoo.
