When I log on to TDameritrade website I get a new tab with a message at the bottom of the screen that says waiting for insight.adsrvr.org but after waiting for a few minutes nothing happens and I lose my patience and exit Firefox. I used a restore point to get rid of adsrvr once, but now it's back again. I would appreciate some help!!

My guess is that TD Ameritrade is intentionally pulling something from that server. Can you stop it by using the tiny "x" icon at the right end of the address bar? That's the "stop" appearance of the combined "reload / stop / go" button.

If you think it's something that does not belong on that page, you could (A) investigate whether you have a bad add-on and/or (B) consider using an ad blocking extension.

(A) You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. All extensions are optional. If in doubt, disable.

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any improvement?

(B) There are a number of well regarded ad blockers, but one that is currently popular is: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
