If I click on reply to sender for after receiving an email the new window opens, but as I'm typing, about every two minutes, the window automatically switches back to the "inbox" window. Very annoying, if I happen to be hitting a keyboard shortcut letter it takes that action on the inbox message (like if I'm in the process of typing an "a" it will archive the message). Help appreciated.

Windows 10? I'm not a big fan and have so far managed to avoid having to use it, but I gather that screensavers and live tiles can steal focus. That might result in the cursor leaving the current window and maybe not returning to it after being released.

It is Windows 10. You could be right but I've had W10 for a year and this TB problem is recent. I'll keep an close eye on the events surrounding the problem to see if I notice anything. Thanks.
