I have an Acer computer running Windows 10 & the newest version of Firefox. I open the Firefox app & type in website in search bar and the page does nothing. No error messages, it’s just a blank white page. Won’t open even google.com nothing. I tried opening in safe mode still nothing. I’ve tried proxy setting... nothing.

Do you have today's updated version of Firefox? I think it fixes an incompatibility with certain security software that caused all tabs to be blank.

Do you use AVG, ESET, EMET, Webroot, or the latest Windows 10 update for Windows Defender? The Firefox 58.0.1 update was supposed to fix the blank pages issue with this programs.

You mentioned that Firefox claims to be the latest version, but could you double check that it's the .1 update? Since Firefox won't display even its own internal pages, I think you can best do that as follows:

Open the Firefox program folder as follows:

  • right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut, then Properties, then on the Shortcut tab, click Open Folder Location
  • if you pinned the shortcut to the Taskbar, right-click the pinned Firefox icon, right-click Mozilla Firefox, then Properties, then on the Shortcut tab, click Open Folder Location

That should open Windows Explorer with firefox.exe highlighted. Right-click firefox.exe, Properties, then Details tab. Here the precise version will be listed.

Thanks for checking that. I'm guessing there is an unsolved incompatibility with Webroot. I don't know of a workaround; hopefully another support volunteer does.
