I changed the settings to make Firefox the default for opening a download from ASUS. How do I go back to the Explorer orignal default?

When I tried downloading ASUS firmware for a router with Firefox it rapid fire opened 50+ tabs (more if I hadn't closed things down) before I could close down Firefox. Windows Explorer worked fine. I prefer to use Firefox, but need to go back to Explorer it seems. I don't know what the opening tabs were because they were opening so fast that they were moving across the page before i could see what a loaded tab was. Thoughts on how to fix Firefox or how to restore Explorer? Thanks.

Did you look at FF settings to reset the options?
