Firefox was not responding so I dragged to the trash and downloaded the latest version. Followed instructions to drag it to Applications folder and it stuck on "preparing to copy to Applications." After hours I had to relaunch Finder to get rid of this window. Repeated with same result.

Firefox always shows "Update Ready to Install" MAC Only SOLUTION: Remove /Users/<name>/Library/Caches/Mozilla/ which contained the directory /updates/Applications/Firefox/updates/

I did that and tried to install again (drag Firefox to Applications folder) and same result: "Preparing to copy to Applications." I did not do a total uninstall of Firefox because I was hoping to recover bookmarks.

I have the same issue, too. I wish that a solution could be provided for this issue. I have done a clean uninstall and reinstall, tried @lihininisansala95 suggestion but that did not work. I looked at the article that @Senali Madawala provided but it appears to be irrelevant to the issue that I am having. I shouldn't have to change my server settings to install Firefox. Oh, and I tried rebooting my computer as well but every time it gets stuck on "preparing to copy,"

I would really appreciate anyone's help on this matter. Thank you!
