How to recover lost bookmark folder in bookmarks toolbar in pre 89
Pre v89 Windows 10- for some reason, one of my bookmark folders, containing many subfolders and individual bookmarks, has disappeared from my bookmarks toolbar. interestingly, the lost Bookmark folder it does appear on my android phone. Is there some way of finding it on my desktop and restoring it from there, or possibly restoring it from my phone? I would think I would like to try to do this before installing version 89. You can try to restore an older JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore

The name of an automatically created JSON bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once. You also see this count in the Restore menu drop-down list.
- bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.
