My nice big Search bar just below your logo is useless? When I highlight it, the curser blinks inside it, but when I start typing my search info it automatically types it into the small address bar on top?? I much rather use the SEARCH BAR!!!! I was able to before. Whqat's goingon??

That search bar on the Firefox Home page is a fake search bar and its cursor is a fake cursor like you can see if you check this in the Inspector.

You can set this pref to false in about:config to disable switching to the address bar for searching on the Firefox Home page.

  • about:config => browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar => false

You can open about:config via the location/address bar. On the warning page, click "Accept the Risk and Continue" to open about:config.
