Hello,

I experienced the same problem yesterday... and with the same message, that raised suddenly.

My workaround was to revert back to version 128.4.0esr from the archive repository : https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/

Also check in "Settings / General " that the following option :

"Check for updates but let me decide whether to install them"

is selected !!
