A specific email thread has disappeared from both my inbox and sent folders. I was in the process of writing a reply to the sender, my hand twitched (this happens from time to time) and I must have triggered TBird to glitch somehow. Next thing I know, the whole thread is gone. I can still access it by logging in to the organization's Outlook client directly.

I did a search for the email in TBird and the results indicate it can be found in both the Inbox and Sent folders (it's not), and it doesn't show up in the message list pane. I can access it by clicking on one of the search results, and I can reply to it from there. I have closed and restarted TBird with no change to this issue. This makes me wonder if my twitchy hand caused it to become "hidden" somehow.

Any ideas to help fix this would be appreciated!

Possible gremlin so you could try: Right click on Folder and select 'Properties' Click on 'Repair Folder' click on 'OK'

Another possibility is you somehow made the thread set up as 'Ignored'. Easy enough to do - maybe you accidentally clicked on the 'K' key.

Test: Using the 'Menu Bar' toolbar View > Threads 'All' should be selected and nothing else. But also select : 'Ignored Threads' to see if that thread reappears in the folder. It would have a red circle with line through displaying in the 'thread' column header.

UPDATE: This particular email had about a dozen incoming and sent replies. Interestingly, I just noticed that three of the replies DO show up in the Sent folder, just not the first and last several. They weren't there a while ago. Am I being teased by the ethernet gremlins to believe the rest will eventually re-materialize?

Thank you T-H !!!

That pesky 'K' key was the culprit as the thread was set to ignore. Actually, it's not the key's fault; rather, it was the spasm in my right hand.

Anyway, the whole thread is visible once again.

Cheers!
