I don't know if this has been asked before but here goes All of a sudden my Thunderbird seems to lose sync with my gmail It stops sending sent emails to the sent file and when I delete messages they do not show in the trash folder. If I delete the account and re-add it the problem goes away for a bit. Sometimes it works for a few days and other times, more than not, like today, only a few hours. It is set to use OAuth2 and I also get a certificate warning in regards to gmail which I have to accept every time I re-install. Anyone else have this issue???

Not sure why it would stop working as expected if it worked before, but you tell Thunderbird which folders to use for those purposes in the various Account Settings panes. In particular, Server Settings for Bin/Trash, and Copies & Folders for Sent.

Note that Gmail automatically saves a copy of sent messages, so if you tell Thunderbird to also do that, you'll end up with two copies of sent messages. FWIW, I do tell Thunderbird to do that, but that's me because I want to be able to compare the copy saved by Thunderbird with the copy saved by Gmail, and I use a separate Sent local folder for that, not the folder that Gmail uses at the server.
