The Reload Current Page allows one to get a fresh version of a HTML page. There doesn't seem to be anything equivalent for e.g. a PDF file that is being fetched via a URL. I had to use Tools, Options, Privacy and clear Recent History to get the fresh version of the PDF file.

I'm replying to my own posting. It could be that clearing the downloads window is the answer to my "question".
