Can install 3.6 and Beta 4 but neither will open/ run on my new MacBook- any ideas or similar problems?

Have a new MB Air 11 inch. Veteran Firefox user on multiple Macs. For some reason I cannot install 3.6 or Beta 4 on this computer. Both seem to install. 3.6 does nothing when clicked and Beta 4 hangs and says there are permission errors with my profile. Anyone with solutions or similar problems?

I am sticking to trying to get 3.6 to run for now. Repairing disk permissions has no effect. A click gets one bounce of the Firefox icon then nothing.
