Bookmarks & Bookmarks Toolbar disappeared

I went on holiday for a week, came back, switched on my laptop and all my Bookmarks and the Bookmarks Toolbar have disappeared. And Firefox won't let me Bookmark any new pages either? I am using Firefox 3.6.13 and Max OSX 10.6.6

I have tried Troubleshooting from the Help pages - Restore Bookmarks - can't as I've been away for more than 5 days Check Profile - no new profile has been created. I have only one.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Thanks so much. I had to create a new profile, which brought back the toolbar and was then able to import a previous backup of my bookmarks into the new profile. Deleted the old, damaged profile and all is well again.

Much appreciated.

Was able to restore via tools, options, customize,then drag and drop.
