I am unable to download the older version of Firefox 3.6.16 (OS X 10.4.11 system is not compatible with Firefox 4.0).

Each time I download it, I keep getting a "Verification Failed" message in my download screen. Also, though an icon does appear on my desktop, when I click into it, an error window appears which reads "Warning - The following disk images failed to mount - Firefox 3.6.16.dmg - not recognized"

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

For Mac OS X 10.4.11 or Mac OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

Download a new copy of the Firefox program

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
