I want to import my favourites from internet explorer but the "Import" is greyed out under "files.

The option to import can be disabled if you are in private browsing mode. To stop Firefox opening in private browsing mode do this:

  1. Open the Options window and go to the Privacy panel
  2. Change the setting "Firefox will" to "Remember history", alternatively if you set it to "Use custom settings for history", de-select the setting "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
