I can't customise my toolbars- it's not dragging or dropping anything

I recently updated to Firefox 12 and im having trouble customising my toolbars. When I click on customise the regular box opens up with the drag and drop capabilites of adding all the different symbol things like reload etc, but i am unable to do anything with them. ie i cant drag and drop a thing. I even try and take them off my toolbars and i cant even do that. any ideas?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
