Did you lose the bookmarks after updating Firefox?

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can also try to repair the places database with this extension:

You can also try to restore the bookmarks from one of the (10) JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.

Did you find the Firefox Profile Folder in the Carbonite backup?

The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

You can either restore the places.sqlite database file or restore the above mentioned JSON backups.
