Has anyone else noticed a RADICAL increase in popups under the new version of Firefox when clicking on links in Yahoo mail?

The question says it all. The one advantage that Internet Explorer has always had is that it can block ALL popups, even the ones that might be advantageous to the user, while Firefox only blocks most popups. Since the upgrade to the new version, however, I've noticed that the rate of popups has JUMPED, especially when I go to different parts of my Yahoo mail account. Like with any other unwanted popup, I close the window immediately upon its appearance, so I see little purpose in them at all, but that, of course, is another topic for another time.

hello luislast, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware/malware on your pc. please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and do a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and/or a different tool like the free version of malwarebytes.
