In the URL/Location bar go to: about:config

Double click on Browser.urlbar.default.behavior

Enter a value of 33

Close and restart the browser.

Voila!!!!!!!!

And it took me a LONG time to figure this out.......the solution is NOT intuitive by any means.......and setting auto complete to true does NOT work in config.......at least it doesn't work unless you put the default behaviour to 33 as posted above.........
