With every new release of Firefox the dropdown functions quit working for a while until I have closed and reopened the program several times.

It does no good to just close one tab. I have to close the entire program and restart which is very frustrating if I am in the middle of editing my ecommerce site when it happens. Running Windows 7 Pro and Firefox 28.0.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You can boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
