How do I set the printing controls so portrait is the default for printing messages?

My HP 3520 is set to print portrait from all apps. except Thunderbird. I wish to have the default for printing messages to be portrait, not landscape. I don't know if I accidently did something to change the default. Thanks.

go to printers on your start menu and change the printer default.
