This worked in a previous version. It seems to be a change to the UI

Example: the search entry field at the top of a result set in duckduckgo

That is an example. Not the only example.

In order to select the text one needs to access the context menu (right mouse) and choose select all. A month ago I could just use CTL A, which when you are an average or better typist is faster than using a mouse.

Of course on some fields it works. The main duckduckgo page does allow me to use CTL-A, but on that page it is not useful.

For a few months, and I've seen this happen randomly over the last 5-10 years - pressing enter doesn't work, and sometimes dragging a new link into the empty tab space next to the tabs creates a new tab with the URL in the URL box, but not 'opened'

Does firefox have some issue with loading a web page?

I use ublock origin on default settings, and violent-monkey and stylish for scripting.. but would that disable searching google from a new tab?

I go in and set the Search engine to DuckDuckGo but it defaults back to Google every time I start the app again. Firefox 128.6.0esr macOS 14.7.2.

Will return to my previous browser if FF doesn't allow my choice of Search engine.
