There are other things that need your attention.

Your System Details list shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.

The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there. You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can delete the user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

• Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Note that Windows hides some file extensions by default. Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see file name without file extension. You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.

and where do i find the user.js file?

i have found the user.js file and it contains this: user_pref("network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server", 4); user_pref("nglayout.initialpaint.delay", 600); user_pref("content.notify.interval", 600000); user_pref("content.max.tokenizing.time", 1800000); user_pref("content.switch.threshold", 600000); user_pref("browser.xul.error_pages.enabled", false); user_pref("network.http.pipelining", false); user_pref("network.http.proxy.pipelining", false); user_pref("network.http.pipelining.ssl", false); user_pref("network.http.pipelining.maxrequests", 4); i never created it and unsure what to do, is it worth deleting it?

You can remove the user.js file and remove the corresponding lines from the prefs.js file as well or remove prefs.js to reset all prefs.

My guess is that user.js file was created by an extension that you once had installed; something like Fasterfox or other extension to try to speed up Firefox. Purely a guess as to the name, never used any of those types of extensions.

Once you get rid of the user.js file use Firefox and see if those crashes still occur; the last two you listed had Flash as the prime suspect and I wouldn't necessarily expect that type of crash to be affected by those specific prefs.

Then come back to this thread and provide fresh crash reports, post user.js events.

removing the user.js file seems to have worked, no crashes so far, still having a problem with shockwave flash, kep getting unresponsive plugin warning, is there anything that can be done about this?

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:

• check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
  https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
• disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
• disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Hello again, still having problem with flash player, covered all of the topics above but with no result and now firefox has started to hang again, getting no reponse message in tab bar

Sorry to hear you have a non-responding Firefox. You can fix this by getting ecleaner (if you installed any add ons) and clear values of extensions you removed. Also if you're using programs or add ons like "Firemin or Memory fox". These things mess with Firefox, you can also search on Google for fixes to your problems.

ok installed ecleaner but there were no out dated plugins or extensions, it is still hanging, any ideas anyone it is rather frustrating and also the flash plugin, continues to be non responsive

if you haven't tried this, Try resetting firefox. If you did that & it didn't work, try downgrading from v30 to v29 or v28 frm the version place. If your Firefox works on downgrading, try upgrading again. Hope this helps :)

That are still all problems with the Adobe Flash plugin.

Try to set the Flash plug to click-to-play by setting the permissions for Flash to "Ask To Activate" in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins". That way you can activate the Flash plugin when you need it via the Lego block icon on the location bar.

ok i set flash to ask to activate and now not only do i have to activate it every time to use it, i also still get the plugin is not responding warning when i do activate it, this is truly frustrating
