How do I resize the window Firefox runs in smaller, instead of from the top to the bottom of the monitor screen?
In Ubuntu 14.04 LTS desktop OS, the Firefox 33.0 window runs from the top of the monitor screen to just beyond the bottom of the monitor screen so I can't make it smaller

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
You can try to open the system menu via Alt+Space and use the items in that menu to resize the screen with the keyboard.
