I had a Mac and backed everything up. Setting up the new PC and I've forgotten the Thunderbird password. I've sent the request for a reply to my email address but it doesn't come through. How to I either retrieve or reset the password on a brand new PC?

There is no Thunderbird password. There is a password to your email account. You administer that password with your email provider. Go to their web mail or email help page and look for a link to reset your password.
