After updating Firefox to 36.0.1 from 36.0, the speeds of Firefox went from great to MODEM speeds. This happens for most websites. Tried going to "www.google.com" and it took 21 seconds to load page. www.mozilla.org took 31 seconds.

Tried the REFRESH option on the Mozilla site and lost all extensions and user settings for no reason as this did not help.

Any help would be appreciated as I do not like to used IE which I will have to use till this is fixed.

Thanks

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
