How do I copy e-mails saved to DVD back to Thunderbird?

I had to save my e-mails to dvd so I could format my computer - how do I get them back on my computer?

how did you get them on a DVD in the first place? How they got there has a lot to do with how to get them back.

selected them from Thunderbird and did "save as" and put them on the DVD.

So they are .eml files?

Copy them to the HDD. Then use this add-on:

to import them.
