Every time I send a message Thunderbird crashes
Message "Western (Windows - 1252) appears at top after "write". Messages usually are sent but not always and don't always appear in "Sent" folder.

Disable McAfees outgoing mail scanner as well as it's attachment scanner and see how you get on.
Could you please supply some crash Id's from the troubleshooting information on the help menu.
