failure to conect to the internet following firefox installation
Desktop PC, Windows 7. Was using Google but got tiered of their constant changes without asking? want to go back to Firefox (some 10 years ago) cleaned Google off and de fragmented disc, reg etc. downloaded fine started fine but will not connect to the internet, goes on about fire walls, turned of Windows Firewall and reinstalled same problem. I have hear used old faithful Explorer, and got to Mozilla.org through address bar.

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select Network. Look for Configure How Firefox Connects and press the Settings button. If you are using a proxy, make sure those settings are correct. If there is no proxy, first use No Proxy. If there is a problem, then try System Proxy.
