Reply goes to wrong address
I use several separate gmail addresses. They are not aliases and I log into the accounts as soon as I boot the PC each day.
If I start to compose an email with one account selected but want it to be sent from one of the others, I can change the name on the From line by selecting the correct account from the drop-down list.
The outgoing message displays the desired From address and gets put in the correct Sent folder. However, when the recipient responds, the new message goes into the Inbox for the account that was selected when I started to compose the email, not for the account shown on the From line. Is there a way to make sure the (hidden) "reply to address" corresponds to the From address?
Also noticed if I haven't already sent any messages from the account selected when I started to compose the message, and then change the From, I get prompted by gmail for the password for the originally selected account, not for the one shown on the From line. Is this why the response goes into the wrong Inbox? Any way to fix this?

Does each account have its own unique SMTP setting, using its own email address? You're describing the symptoms of using account A's smtp to send when using account B, and gmail silently swap in the email address associated with A.
Thanks for the response.
All gmail accounts use the same outgoing SMTP server in TB: smtp.googlemail.com
But each account has its own unique user name so there are entries for each user name listed on the SMTP server screen in Account Settings .
It appears that TB or gmail is seeing the user name from the account that's selected when Compose is clicked, but doesn't update it if the From line is changed. AFAIK, this only started after the update to 38.0.1.
Thanks.
