As title says: If I close the Thunderbird window I'd like to get a warning about closing multiple tabs ( like Firefox does). Form time to time, I close Thunderbird by mistake ( instead of closing a tab message). Also I'd like to have compose/reply/forward email into a new tab and not a new window. As a workaround, I'd like to get rid of tabs at all.

Thank you for your fast reply but I don't think it would be useful for me. All I need is to prevent closing thunderbird by mistake (to avoid lengthily sync in subsequent restart) and I would be eager to pay for this by throwing away the nice tab feature... Indeed I can choose to open messages in new windows or new tab tough, as I said before, I can't do the same for composing/replying. However, tab is still there, I often find myself right-click on the message and "Open in a new tab" as the first option, then closing the message window so I found myself ...killing thunderbird
