Until Firefox updated (Feb 2016) I had it set so that if I crashed out of a suspicious site on restart it would open on my home page.

Fine, basic security.

Now that's been wiped. The result is craash out of Firefox and on restart it goes back to the page(s) that were last open. That's lousy security. Its also incredibly annoying. I can't locate the fix in help ........... partly because it doesn't home in the answer it gives 3332 options and the first few hundered (before I gave up) didn't help.

Hi BitBob, I am not entirely sure what you are asking or what you did.

Possibly you set the pref

browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash.

to false.

Is that the information you were looking for ? It is here:

Is that not working for you now ?

You can set browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first start after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Close Firefox. Right click on the icon and select Open New Window. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit.
