Are they in Chrome right now? See: Import data from another browser.

Yesterday I gave my computer to an expert to format my computer.

Did the expert suggest a backup?!

To see whether old Firefox data is still on the computer, please check two places.

To explore, you'll first need to turn on viewing of hidden files and folders: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

(1) Additional profiles

Your existing installation of Firefox stores its settings in a profile folder. To check whether there are any other profile folders side-by-side with the one you are using now, type or paste the following into the Windows 7 Start menu search box and press Enter to launch this folder in a file viewer:

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

How many folders do you find here? If there are multiple folders, check into each to see whether any seem to have files updated around the right time (the time you were last able to use your old Firefox). Anything?

(2) Global Search

In the file viewer, open the C drive (usually you click the first thing under Computer in the left column, or you can type C:\ in the address bar at the top and press Enter). Then in the search box at the upper right search for places.sqlite and see how many you find. There should be one in your existing Firefox profile. Can you find any others?

If you do not find any old Firefox data files: You could try an undelete utility. However, the more disk activity there has been since the erasure, the less likely it is that you can recover deleted files. Here's an example of a utility for this:

(I'm having trouble loading that page that the moment...)
