Did the "update" to 45 last night-- why developers feel the need to make the product bloated, buggy and filled with useless crap I cannot fathom-- so in short, I want to go back to ver 44--How do I do so? Thanks

You Google Thunderbird previous versions and find this page. https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/

FYI ver 38 was the last general release. Ver 44 was beta but feel free to use it if you want.

Thank you Airmail..did the rollback, but still have the things that drive me up a wall-- do I need to rollback further? Also, now Thunderbird doesn't have it's own icon anymore-- looked in the program file, didn't find it it...what I really want to get rid of is the "correspondents" crap and go back to to/ from, as well as all the other bloat they put in this version...

The last general releases were version 38 but you wanted to go back to beta 44 for some unknown reason.

Correspondents is a column just like any other column. Turn on the columns that you want and turn off the ones you don't.

For future reference you would get better help if you do less ranting and provider detailed questions of what you want to change. The column is a perfect example. A couple of mouse clicks and you would be where you want instead of wasting time loading beta software and being in the same basic place.
