Firefox crashes - even in safe mode

Just turned on computer this morning and Firefox crashes, even when starting in safe mode.
uninstalled, removed system folder in Program Files, downloaded latest version, reinstalled.
still crashes every time on start-up.
Not sure what to do next ??
