There is a problem when I create a Smart Keyword: the Keyword keeps disappearing, rendering the Smart Keyword non-operational.

Here's what I'm doing. I go to Bookmarks, New Bookmark..., I fill in Name, Location, and Keyword, and I click Add. Then I check to see that the new bookmark is there in the menu. It is, but when I click on its Properties, the Keyword is missing. As a result, the Smart Keyword does not work.

This can happen if you have used the keyword before and have changed the URL of that bookmark.

If you edit the location (url) of a bookmark then best is to first remove the keyword, then edit the URL and then re-add the keyword. There is a problem with keywords if you edit the location field and best is to first remove the keyword if you need to change/update the location (URL) of a bookmark to avoid ending up with an orphaned keyword that can't be reused. You can use the SQLite Manager extension to remove this specific keyword from the moz_keywords table in the places.sqlite file. Otherwise you have to use another keyword.

You can use the SQLite Manager extension in Firefox to inspect SQLite databases.
